Ingredients

  • 6 slices frozen garlic Texas toast
  • 1 cup cooked, shredded chicken (I used the shredded rotisserie chicken that you can find near the deli section of your grocery store)
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce, divided (this is my favorite)
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Sliced red onion (if desired)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425℉ (or to the temperature on the back of your frozen garlic bread box). Line a large baking pan with parchment paper. Place frozen toast onto prepared pan and bake for 4 minutes. While toast is baking, add chicken and ½ cup of bbq sauce to a medium bowl and stir to combine.
  • Remove toast from oven, flip each slice, and then spread each slice with 1 tablespoon of bbq sauce, half of the shredded cheese, and then top each slice with chicken, the remaining shredded cheese, red onion slices (if desired), and then sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  • Bake for an additional 4-6 minutes, or until cheese is melted and toasted in heated through. Optional: broil for 1 minute to get an extra crispy texture. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Leftovers will keep in the refrigerator for up to two days.
