Fresh fruit is always plentiful in my kitchen.

From strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and apples, we usually have a plethora of options to choose from. I’m not picky when it comes to fruit, but strawberries are a favorite of mine. And I love to have healthier options hanging around when the snack cravings strike.

This delicious treat was inspired by those tru fru frozen chocolate fruit bites. If you’ve tried these before, you know how addicting they can be. Fruit, covered in chocolate, and then frozen….mmm mmm good!

You may have also seen the viral recipe on social media, specifically the strawberry yogurt bites on TikTok. But, trust me, this version is better! It’s a great way to sneak in some healthy ingredients and protein.

So instead of buying a bag (or three) of the frozen fruit when grocery shopping, I decided to make my own version. One with creamy yogurt and a hint of sweetness.

These easy strawberry yogurt bites are just what the name suggests. With simple ingredients, it’s the perfect balance of tartness from the yogurt and the sweetness from the chocolate and chopped strawberries. Plus, a touch of honey for added flavor.

Why You’ll Love These Frozen Yogurt Bites:

  • Delicious: rich milk chocolate, fresh strawberries, honey, and tangy yogurt make the best combination.
  • Easy to Make: with just four ingredients, this no bake treat is ready to go in no time.
  • Fun for the Whole Family: the kids can help make this tasty snack and you can feel good about feeding it to them. This would be a fun activity for hot summer days.

Ingredients in Chocolate Strawberry Yogurt Clusters:

  • Milk chocolate: I used chocolate wafers, but melted chocolate chips will also work. If using chocolate chips, you may want to add a bit of coconut oil so the mixture turns out smooth.
  • Fresh strawberries: fresh is best, though thawed frozen strawberries will work.
  • Greek yogurt
  • Honey: optional, but it helps sweeten the tangy yogurt.

How to Make Strawberry Yogurt Bites:

  • Melt: add chocolate to a microwave-safe bowl and heat until melted in 30-second intervals.
  • Add: spoon melted chocolate into each mini muffin pan and allow to harden slightly.
  • Mix yogurt: combine the yogurt and honey, then fold in strawberries to make the strawberry yogurt mixture.
  • Assemble: top hardened chocolate with the yogurt mixture and freeze until ready to serve.

How to Store:

Frozen strawberry clusters will keep in a freezer-safe container or bag for up to three months.

Variations:

This strawberry yogurt bite recipe is delicious all on its own, but there are some tasty ways to adapt this to your tastes:

  • Change the fruit: fresh blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries would be a delicious alternative.
  • Use different yogurt: try strawberry Greek yogurt, vanilla yogurt, dairy-free yogurt, or coconut yogurt instead of plain.
  • Switch up the chocolate: instead of milk chocolate for the chocolate coating, use dark chocolate or white chocolate as the base of the yogurt cups. You could also use vegan chocolate chips or a dairy-free version.
  • Add some mix-ins: stir in some mini chocolate chips, granola, or a swirl of creamy peanut butter or almond butter for more flavor.
  • Toppings: add some crushed peanuts, mini chocolate chips, or toffee bits to the top of each yogurt cup before freezing for a satisfying crunch.

In addition to eating these yogurt clusters on its own, I like to chopped up a few bites and stir into my morning oatmeal or add on top of a scoop of ice cream for an added crunch.

  • 1 cup milk chocolate melting wafers OR chocolate chips, (I used Ghirardelli milk chocolate melting wafers)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries

Instructions

  • Line a 24-count mini muffin pan with paper liners or use a silicone muffin pan.
  • In a medium microwave-safe bowl, and chocolate and melt over medium heat, stirring every 30 seconds so it doesn't burn.
  • Spoon about 1 tablespoon of melted chocolate into the bottom of each muffin mold. Place in the refrigerator or freezer for about 5-10 minutes to harden slightly (it doesn't need to harden all the way).
  • While chocolate is chilling, add yogurt to a medium bowl. Stir in honey (if using) until well combined. Fold in chopped strawberries.
  • Spoon about 1 tablespoon of yogurt mixture on top of each chocolate cup. Freeze for 2-3 hours, or until frozen. When ready to serve, remove yogurt bites from molds and let thaw for several minutes, if desired.
