Spiced Cherry Cider
This Spiced Cherry Cider is filled with sweet apple cider and spiced with cinnamon and cherry gelatin. It’s simmered until the flavors are blended together and makes the perfect drink for when you need a little warming up!
Remember that time that I added apple cider to a smoothie? Well, I did it again, but this time I made it into a hot drink and added some cherry and cinnamon. Are you intrigued?
Let me back up a little and share with you my love for apple cider. It’s sweet, refreshing, and loaded with flavor. Apple cider beats apple juice any day of the week for me, and I love that my fridge is always stocked with it come the fall.
Even though apple cider is available year round, I only allow myself to buy it in the fall. It just tastes wrong to me if I have it any other time of the year.
Until now.
Well, technically, it’s still the end of fall, as we’ve got another few days or so until it’s officially winter. But, in my mind, winter starts with Thanksgiving. Know what I mean?
And even though fall and winter treats are hard to distinguish between, apple cider always lands in the fall category for me.
Until I made this Spiced Cherry Cider, which is best for enjoying during the winter months. This drink is filled with sweet apple cider and spiced with cinnamon and cherry gelatin. It’s simmered until the flavors are blended together and makes the perfect drink for when you need a little warming up!
Apple cider and cherry gelatin (or jello) seems like a strange combination, but trust me, it’s delicious! I first came across this recipe in the Taste of Home Christmas edition magazine, and modified it just slightly to fit my needs. Since I was craving apple cider and wanted something to warm me up, this Spiced Cherry Cider did just the trick!
And this Spiced Cherry Cider couldn’t be any easier to prepare! But you knew that was coming, right? With just three ingredients and almost no prep work, you can have this drink ready in no time.
While this can be made in the slow cooker, I opted to make it on the stove and let it simmer for about an hour. It makes your house smell wonderful, with the hints of apple, cherries, and cinnamon.
To make this sweet drink, simply combine some fresh apple cider, a package of cherry gelatin, and one cinnamon stick. Bring the mixture to a boil, and then cover and let simmer for about an hour.
This Spiced Cherry Cider makes the most delicious winter drink, with hints of cherries and cinnamon peeking through the apple cider. It also makes the perfect drink to serve at your holiday parties or get-togethers. It’s a sweet, yet unique drink that your guests will love!
