These monster energy balls are healthy, simple, and packed with flavor. Just a few ingredients is all it takes and, trust me, you’re going to love these.

And if you’ve been around here long enough, you know that energy bites are kind of my thing. These peanut butter banana energy bites and those cherry chocolate chip energy bites just two of my favorites.

But, back to this monster energy bites recipe. It’s inspired by those giant monster cookies that everyone loves. You know, the cookies with peanut butter, M&M’s, and chocolate chips..those cookies.

And while monster energy balls are nothing new, I just had to get my hands on them. Only six ingredients and just a few stirs away from a healthier, tasty breakfast or snack!

Ingredients in No Bake Monster Cookie Energy Bites:

  • Old-fashioned oats
  • Creamy peanut butter
  • Honey
  • Vanilla
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Mini M&M’s

How to Make Monster Cookie Dough Balls:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the oats, M&M’s, and chocolate chips. Set aside.

  2. In a small, microwaveable bowl, add the peanut butter and honey. Microwave for 10-15 seconds, or until peanut butter melts slightly so that it is easier to stir. Remove from microwave and add in vanilla. Stir thoroughly until mixture is smooth.

  3. Pour peanut butter mixture over oat mixture and stir to combine, ensuring all of the oats are covered. If the mixture seems too wet, add 1 tablespoon (or more) of oats until it comes together.

  4. Place bowl into refrigerator and chill for 15-20 minutes, so that mixture holds together and is easier to shape into balls.

  5. Form mixture into 1-1½ inch balls. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Do I Need to Refrigerate Before Rolling into Balls?

While it isn’t necessary, it’s most likely needed, as the oat mixture may be a bit too soft to stay in a ball shape if not refrigerated first. The chilling time helps the mixture firm up so rolling into balls is easier.

How Long Will These Bites Last?

Store these balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

If you’d like to freeze: store in a freezer-safe container or bag for up to three months.

Recipe Variations:

These monster protein balls are delicious as is, but here are some fun variations!

  • Swap out the peanut butter for almond butter or another nut butter.
  • Add some chia or flax seeds for a nutrition boost.
  • If you prefer, swap the honey for maple syrup.
  • In need of a protein kick? Add a scoop or two of your favorite protein powder.
  • Don’t have M&Ms? Skip them entirely or add some extra chocolate chips, raisins, shredded coconut or chopped candy bars.
