Lavender Lemonade Recipe
This honey lavender lemonade really hits the spot. It’s made with fresh lemon juice, lavender sprigs (or lavender syrup), and a honey syrup. It’s perfect for baby showers, bridal showers, a special occasion, or just for when you need something fresh and flavorful.
And if you’re a lavender lover like I am, this delicious lemonade recipe was made for you. I love using this lavender syrup in my homemade lattes, so I used it in this drink. However, lavender sprigs (or petals) can be used. It gives this drink a floral flavor, without being too overpowering. Add a few sprigs of fresh lavender when serving and your guests will be wowed with this gorgeous drink.
The honey lavender simple syrup is made from simple ingredients. The taste of floral notes, honey, and sweet lemon are a winning combination.
This lemonade is simple to make and made with just a handful of ingredients…perfect for when the craving strikes. It’s also easy to customize, depending on your tastes.
Ingredients in Lavender Honey Lemonade:
- Honey: raw honey is best, as it doesn’t have processed ingredients
- Lavender: fresh lavender buds or syrup
- Water
- Lemon juice: fresh works best
- Purple food coloring: if desired
- Lemon slices and mint, for garnish: if desired
How to Make Lavender Lemonade:
- In a small saucepan, heat honey and 2 cups of water over medium heat, stirring until the honey is completely dissolved. Once dissolved, remove from heat and stir in lavender until dissolved. If using petals, strain from liquid.
- Allow the honey mixture to cool completely and then add in the purple food coloring (if using) and stir to combine.
- Pour honey mixture into a large pitcher and then add lemon juice and the remaining 3 cups water. Stir until well combined.
- If serving right away, add ice and lemon slices and mint (if desired). Pour into glasses and enjoy. If serving for later, refrigerate until ready to consume.
Can I Make This Lavender Lemonade Recipe Ahead of Time?
Yes! If you are serving this for an event or party, you can make the syrup ahead of time. When ready to serve, add the lemon juice and water.
Do I Need to Use Purple Food Coloring?
No. It just gives this drink a pretty color. Without it, it will look like regular lemonade.
Where Can I Find Dried Lavender Flowers?
Most health food stores sell culinary lavender or even organic culinary lavender. You can also search online for a variety of lavender petals.
How Long Will This Last?
Lemonade will last in the refrigerator for up to four days.
How to Serve:
I like to garnish the pitcher with fresh lemon slices and sprigs of mint. You could also add a lemon slice and mint to each glass.
Variations:
- For a stronger lavender flavor: use two tablespoons of lavender petals or three tablespoons lavender syrup.
- For a less sweet lemonade: start with one cup of honey and taste. If needed, add more.
- If you want a pop of lemon flavor: add a tablespoon of lemon zest to the mixture.
- Want to make a boozy lemonade? Add one cup of vodka to the mix.
Note: I do not recommend using lavender essential oil, as it might not be food grade and/or turn out with the best results.
