Cilantro Lime Popcorn Shrimp Tacos
These Cilantro Lime Popcorn Shrimp Tacos are filled with crispy popcorn shrimp, a zesty cilantro lime sauce, and topped with a lime cream drizzle. Easy to make and ready in just 20 minutes, this flavorful dish will be the hit of your dinner table!
My feelings about tacos will never, ever change. I’m a big fan of Mexican food and always will be. I love just about any kind of Mexican food there is, and the more authentic, the better!
However, my feelings about popcorn shrimp have evolved over the years. I love shrimp and seafood, always have and always will, but popcorn shrimp…that’s another story.
When I was little, I disliked the texture of breaded fish and breaded shrimps. Maybe dislike it too strong of a word. I could eat it, but I preferred my fish and shrimp to be un-breaded. Grilled or broiled was the name of my game, not fried.
Until I got older. That’s when I started to enjoy quality, breaded shrimp and fish. Beer-battered and baked to perfection, it gave the seafood an extra oomph of flavor.
And since the hubster and I adore Mexican food and seafood, I decided to put my creative skills to good use. When I was shopping at Walmart last week, I stumbled upon SeaPak® products in the frozen aisle.
Although it may seem strange to find seafood in the frozen section, I can assure you that SeaPak is made from coastal tasting, high quality ingredients. In fact, it’s one of the only seafood brands that I trust, especially when it comes to shrimp.
I headed home with party-sized boxes of SeaPak Popcorn Shrimp and Beer-Battered Shrimp and couldn’t want to make a delicious meal for the hubster and I. And that’s where these Cilantro Lime Popcorn Shrimp Tacos come into play.
These Cilantro Lime Popcorn Shrimp Tacos are filled with crispy popcorn shrimp, a zesty cilantro lime sauce, honey, and topped with a lime cream drizzle. Easy to make and ready in just 20 minutes, this flavorful dish will be the hit of your dinner table!
If you love shrimp as much as I do, then I guarantee you’ll love these flavorful popcorn shrimp tacos! The crispy shrimp and zesty flavors combine to create a combination that is oh-so good. And did I mention that it’s ready in just 20 minutes? You can’t get much easier than that!
To start, you’ll bake the SeaPak Popcorn Shrimp according to the package directions. While the shrimp is cooking, it’s time to prepare the flavorful cilantro lime sauce. Simply whisk together the juice of two limes, honey, olive oil, fresh cilantro, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Then, it’s time to make the lime crema, which adds the finishing touch to these crispy tacos. Mix together some sour cream, lime juice and the lime zest.
Once the popcorn shrimp is ready, toss with the cilantro lime sauce. Assemble the tacos and drizzle on the lime crema and garnish with some avocados and cheese, if needed.
One bite of these Cilantro Lime Popcorn Shrimp Tacos and you’ll fall in love with the crispy texture, fresh flavors and irresistible taste. Easy to prepare and even better to devour, these tacos will make the perfect addition to your weeknight dinner menu!

Just saw this recipe for shrimp tacos. Really wan to try it soon. Do you think it would be ok with fresh shrimp that is grilled instead of the popcorn shrimp? Please let me know. Thanks a bunch.
Debbie
Hi Debbie! Absolutely! I think grilled shrimp would taste just as good! Hope you love it and thanks for stopping by!
I just made this for lunch—omg-delicious! For the “pepper to taste” I used a ouple of shakes of crushed red pepper, but otherwise follow the directions exactly. This will be one of our go-to favorites. Thank You!
I’m so happy you enjoyed this, Mary Beth! It’s a favorite of mine, too! And crushed red pepper sounds wonderful!
