Ingredients in Ranch Mushrooms:

  • Mushrooms: while any kind will work, I use sliced baby bella mushrooms.
  • Olive oil and melted unsalted butter: these ingredients coat the mushrooms and give it a rich flavor.
  • Ranch seasoning mix: I love using this homemade version, but the store-bought packaged or jarred kind works just as well.
  • Salt and pepper: to taste.

How to Make Mushrooms with Ranch:

  • Add: to a large bowl or resealable bag, add mushrooms olive oil, melted butter, and ranch mix.
  • Toss: gently toss to combine or seal bag and shake until the mushrooms are coated.
  • Bake: spread the mushrooms evenly onto a prepared baking pan and bake until golden and tender.

How to Store:

Leftover mushrooms will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.

  • To reheat: warm in the microwave for 30-45 seconds, or until heated through.

What Kind of Mushrooms Should I Use?

I love the taste of baby bella mushrooms, but white button mushrooms or cremini will also work.

How to Clean Mushrooms:

There are different methods, but I like to take a damp paper towel and gently blot the mushrooms to remove any dirt.

Why are My Mushrooms Soggy?

One reason is when cleaning or washing, the mushrooms retain the water and then release the liquid when baking. It is important to blot with a damp cloth instead of submerging directly under water when cleaning.

Is it Better to Cook Mushrooms in Butter or Oil?

I personally prefer butter, as it provides a richer flavor. However, in this baked mushroom recipe, I use a combination of olive oil and butter to achieve that golden texture.

What to Serve with Buttery Ranch Mushrooms:

Truth be told, I can make a meal out of just mushrooms! But, if you’re looking for a delicious main to serve with these baked mushrooms, here are a few of my favorites:
