Baked Oreo Donuts
These Baked Oreo Donuts feature a rich, chocolate donut, studded with Oreo cookies and baked to perfection. Topped with a sweet cream cheese glaze and sprinkled with crumbled cookies, these donuts make the best breakfast or dessert!
So let’s talk about Oreo cookies today, shall we?
I’d like to know, is it your favorite cookie? Do you buy them just to dunk them in some milk?
If I’m being honest, Oreos are not my favorite, though I do like them! Sugar cookies, followed by chocolate chip cookies, rank in my top two.
But, I love Oreo or cookies ‘n cream flavored ANYTHING! Ice cream, pancakes, pies, cakes, cupcakes, you name it. Cookies ‘n cream is my go-to dessert of choice when it’s available.
And flavored Oreos. You know, the red velvet ones, pumpkin spice, candy corn, peanut butter ones, etc. I have to try them ALL because I just love those flavors.
But, you really can’t beat the classic, original, cookies and cream flavored Oreos. And since I do love those in just about anything, I decided to whip them up into a donut. I know, not very original, but trust me, they’re soooo good!

That’s right…you can have these donuts for breakfast. Why not, right? A little chocolate sounds like a great way to start the day if you ask me. But, if dessert is more your style, these were made for ending the night with a little sweet treat.
And like most of my recipes, these Baked Oreo Donuts are a breeze to whip up! You can have these prepped, baked, and ready to be devoured in no tie. And trust me when I say that you will be devouring these ALL. They’re that good, friends.
What makes these donuts extra special (besides the chocolate and Oreos, of course) is the cream cheese frosting. It adds the perfect amount of sweetness on top of the chocolate donut. And those Oreo cookie crumbs? Don’t skip those. They make these donuts the best.
Some tips to remember:
- Be careful not to overmix the batter once the wet and dry ingredients are combined. You want a light and fluffy donut texture, not a dense and chewy one.
- To make filling the donut pan easier, spoon the batter into a pastry bag or large ziploc bag and snip the tip. Then, squeeze and pipe into the pan. Much easier than using a spoon!
So if you’re looking to add a little sweetness to your breakfast or to make dessert even better, these Baked Oreo Donuts were made for you!

Baked Oreo Donuts
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup milk, any kind (I used 2%)
- ¼ cup melted coconut oil, or vegetable oil
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 6 Oreo cookies, crushed into crumbs
Cream Cheese Frosting
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2-3 tablespoons milk
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla bean paste, or vanilla extract
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 4 Oreo cookies, crushed into crumbs
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray two 6-count donut pans with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk the egg, milk, coconut oil, and vanilla extract until smooth. Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the flour mixture, stirring until just combined. Batter will be very thick. Gently fold in the crushed Oreo cookies
- Spoon mixture into a large ziplock bag and cut tip of bottom corner. Pipe mixture into prepared donut pans.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until donuts are slightly firm. Remove from oven and cool completely before adding frosting.
- To prepare the frosting, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add milk, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar. Beat until smooth and reaches your desired consistency and sweetness. Add more milk and/or powdered sugar, if needed.
- Take each donut and dunk halfway into frosting, then sprinkle with crushed Oreo cookies. Repeat with rest of donuts.
I love how you suggested having these for breakfast…..well if you say so 😉 So hard to pick my favourite cookie! I do love homemade short bread cookies, but store bought ones? Oreo definitely has to be on the top of the list. I don’t recall seeing all the flavours you listed there, but original (like most things) has to be the best. I have a donut pan on route to me now so this recipe is perfect timing. Would love one of these right now dunked in my morning coffee. Pinned! Happy Monday 🙂
Donuts are the BEST for breakfast! 🙂 Thanks for the donut love and pin, friend!
My favorite cookie is definitely chocolate chip … right out of the oven! These donuts look sinfully delicious… and I wish I had one right now with my coffee 😉 You’re reminding me that I need to pick up a donut pan and make some donuts!
Chocolate chippers are so good right out of the oven! 🙂 Thanks for the sweet comment, Keri!
Oh gosh, OREO donuts?? What kind of breakfast magic is this?? This is totally my preferred way to start off a Monday. What a decadent-yet-healthy looking donut, Gayle!
Donuts on a Monday are the best, right? 🙂 Thanks, Sarah!
OMG. YES!!! This Monday absolutely NEEDS epic donuts, Gayle!! So you know I’m allergic to cocoa, but I love the golden Oreos! It’s a guilty pleasure. But Boy is regular Oreo OBSESSED. Like, we always have a package of Oreos in the pantry, because he will have a hissy fit if we don’t. 🙂 I can’t WAIT to make him these donuts!!!! He is going to FREAK over these! Love that you added oreos to the actual donut mix AND then to the top too! Wow. EPIC! Pinned!! Cheers!!
P.s. i’m totally going to have to make vanilla/golden Oreo donuts for me. Gimme gimme gimme!!
Thanks, Cheyanne! Golden oreos (the birthday cake ones) are my favorite! Thanks for the kind words and pin, friend!
Oreos definitely are not my jam, but my boys (and husband) love them. If there’s anything they love more, it’s probably donuts. Basically, this is their DREAM breakfast!
Oreo donuts are SO good! Thanks, Blair!

Gayle, these Oreo donuts look absolutely amazing! During my little sweet-a-thon this weekend, I could have totally used two (or a dozen lol). Love that you made these baked too! I am totally on board with having these for breakfast… and lunch… and dinner. Also, dessert! 😉 Now you’ve got me craving donuts like crazy! Any chance you can send over a batch? 😉 Pinned, of course!
